Here comes another competitor for Facebook.. 

DIASPORA

They proclaimed themselves as the 'open-source' version of social network community system.. saying that :

"We are 140-character ideas. We are the pictures of your cat. We are blog posts about the economy. We are the collective knowledge that is Wikipedia. The internet is a canvas – of which, we paint broad and fine strokes of our lives with. It is a forward extension of our physical lives; a meta-self comprised of ones and zeros. We are all that is digital: If we weren’t, the internet wouldn’t either."

Lol, it looks like the hacker's manifesto (link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacker_Manifesto).. Cool stuff actually ^_^..

They will oficially release (developer release) their network September 15th..

Hmm, can common user also use the network by then? or they have to wait for some more time.. But hey, that doesn't really matter,  all I want to watch is the giant clash/competition between facebook and this newcomer.. It'll be fun.. 

Will the OLD generation of Facebook stand as the contender of social network? or Will this new sprout becomes Future's virtual hangout place??

Don't wait for it!.. Embrace it...

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said : the messenger of Allah said :

Close.. or even closer ?

"A man follows the religion of his close friend, so each of you should be very careful about whom he takes as a close friend." (Abu Dawud)

Speaking about a close friend takes be back to the past... several years ago...

I've made someone really special as a trustworthy friend.. someone to trust in dire times.. someone to share joy and happiness.. 

Now, after I seek within my past.. Where is that close friend of mine.. or even worse.. Who is that person that I called a close friend? I guess, it's time to muhasabah myself! something that doesn't even exist could give you an illusion..

Dawn of Civilization

Satu saat.. Abdi berpikir ke belakang.. teringat kembali salah satu hobi yang masih ada hingga sekarang, meskipun hobi itu masih dikomentari beberapa sahabat, membawa hidup ini ke cakrawala yang lebih luas..

Bertemu dengan Civilization karya dari Mbah Sid Meier... sebagai muslim.. saya mungkin akan merespon dengan Subhanallah!!.. sebuah hiburan yang dikemas indah dengan bait-bait cerita umat manusia.. dari zaman batu hingga perseteruan di antaranya dalam perang bintang..

Tapi.. sebelum jauh.. ada satu prolog yang menyentak benak ini.. barangkali bukan karena baru melihatnya.. namun karena paragraf yang sama dipegang oleh para penganut agama yang satu.. 

In the beginning the earth was without form, and void.
But the sun shone upon the sleeping earth,

The seas parted, and great continents were formed.
Mountains arose, earthquakes spawned massive tidal waves.

And with life came instinct, and specialization, natural selection, reptiles, dinosaurs and mammals.
And finally there evolved a species known as man.
And there appeared the first faint glimmers of intelligence.
The fruits of intelligence were many:
Fire, tools, and weapons,
The hunt, farming, and the sharing of food,
The family, the village, and the tribe.
Now it required but one more ingredient:
A great leader to unite the quarrelling tribes,
To harness the power of the land,
To build a legacy that would stand the test of time:
The civilization.

Ingatlah wahai diriku.. semua ini adalah warisan para pendahulu.. dan ia akan diberikan kepada para penerus.. min 'adamin ilaa 'adamin..

The Prophet said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."

First Day Using Google Buzz

Aneh juga keputusan Google Inc..
Katanya mau menyaingi Facebook dan Twitter dengan fasilitas barunya untuk semua pelanggan GMail ini..

Ya sudahlah, kalo Abdi sih, ada fasilitas, ya dimanfaatkan dunk..hehe..

Nah, katanya situs Abdi ini juga ikut ke-Attach ama Buzz-nya..

Saat ini Indonesia akan kembali mengangkat jangkar untuk segera melaut di era baru pemerintahan Indonesia.. Betapa tidak, kali ini, sang pemimpin mengisi sebagian besar pos dengan insan profesional.. Tapi sudahlah, sudah terlalu banyak yang membahasnya... 

Kutipan di atas sekadar wacana, katanya 'Ustadz' Tifatul yang tadinya Presiden PKS dinobatkan menjadi Menteri Komunikasi dan Informasi... Akan jadi apa yah nantinya...
